Guided reading text (简短文本) 📚🇰🇪
中文：小明在学校图书馆读书。他喜欢读关于动物的故事，尤其是肯尼亚的大象。昨天，他读了一本关于野生动物的书。他觉得读书很有趣，也学到很多新词。
Pinyin：Xiǎo Míng zài xuéxiào túshūguǎn dúshū. Tā xǐhuan dú guānyú dòngwù de gùshì, yóuqí shì Kěnníyǎ de dàxiàng. Zuótiān, tā dúle yì běn guānyú yěshēng dòngwù de shū. Tā juéde dúshū hěn yǒuqù, yě xué dào hěn duō xīn cí.
English：Xiao Ming reads in the school library. He likes reading animal stories, especially Kenya's elephants. Yesterday, he read a book about wildlife. He thinks reading is fun and learned many new words.
Grammar focus (重点语法点)
- SVO sentence order (主语-动词-宾语):
Example: 小明 / 在图书馆 / 读书。 (Xiǎo Míng / zài túshūguǎn / dúshū) — subject + location + verb-object.
- Location + 在 + place (在 = at/in):
在学校图书馆 — at the school library. Use 在 to show location.
- Question forms (疑问句)：
- Yes/no question with 吗: 他喜欢读故事吗？
- Wh-questions: 他喜欢读什么？ 谁喜欢？ 在哪儿读？ - Past aspect particle 了 (表示动作完成):
读了 (dúle) shows the action happened (昨天，他读了一本书).
- Adverbs & degree: 很 / 尤其 (especially):
他觉得读书很有趣。尤其是肯尼亚的大象。
- Conjunction 因为...所以... (cause → result):
Useful for expressing reasons: e.g., 因为我喜欢动物，所以我常常读动物的书。
- Measure word: 一本 (for books):
一本书 — always use a measure word for countable nouns.
- Negation: 不 and 没 (difference):
- 不 + verb = present/future negation: 我不想看。
- 没(有) + verb = past negation (did not): 我没有读那本书。
