Useful tips for teachers and learners (Kenyan classrooms)
- Use local places (Uhuru Park, Mamaโs stall, matatu stage) when making example sentences โ learners connect faster.
- Practice with role-play: give directions around the classroom using prepositions (e.g., "Put the book on the desk", "Stand beside the window").
- Mark common errors and explain why one preposition is correct and another is not (compare: at the bus stop vs in the bus).
- Encourage learners aged age_replace to make short sentences in pairs and read them aloud โ speaking helps fix preposition use.
Summary: Prepositions are small but important words that show relationships of place, time and movement. Use local, familiar examples and lots of short practice sentences to help learners master them.
