1. Vitenzi (Ufafanuzi mfupi)
Vitenzi ni maneno yanayoonyesha tendo, hali au mabadiliko. Mfano rahisi: kula (to eat), soma (to read), cheza (to play), fika (to arrive).
2. Muundo wa kitenzi (kwa Kiswahili rahisi)
Kitenzi kina sehemu kuu: kibandiko cha nafsi (subject concord) + kipimo cha wakati (tense marker) + mzizi wa kitenzi + -a (sauti ya mwisho).
Mfano na mzizi "kula":
Mimi (ni-) + sasa ( -na- ) + kula = Ninakula (I eat / I am eating).
Wewe (u-) + jana ( -li- ) + kula = Ulikula (You ate).
Yeye (a-) + sasa ( -na- ) + kula = Anakula (He/She eats).
3. Baadhi ya Kibandiko na Alama za Wakati (mfano)
  • Kibandiko (Subject concord): Mimi = ni- ; Wewe = u- ; Yeye = a- ; Sisi = tu- ; Ninyi = m- ; Wao = wa-.
  • Wakati (Tense markers): Sasa/hali ya sasa = -na- ; Jana (past/simple) = -li- ; Umefanya (perfect) = -me- ; Kesho (future) = -ta- ; Tabia/habitual = -hu-.
  • Mfano kamili: Nimekula = I have eaten, Nilikula = I ate, Ninakula = I eat / I am eating.
4. Matumizi ya viambishi (Derivatives)
Kwa kuongeza viambishi maalumu (suffixes) tunaweza kubadilisha maana ya kitenzi:
  • Causative (kwafanya mwingine afanye): -isha / -esha — soma → somesha (to teach, cause to read).
  • Applicative (kwa / kwa ajili ya): -ia / -ea — andika → andikia (write to somebody).
  • Reciprocal (kila mmoja kwa mwingine): -ana — penda → pendana (love each other).
  • Passive (tenzi kuzaliwa pasively): -wa / -lwa — andika → andikwa (be written).
Mfano fupi: soma (read) → somesha (teach) → someshwa (be taught).
5. Amuru (Imperative) na Kinyume (Negative) — mifano muhimu
Amuru (2nd person singular): Toa mzizi bila -a: "Kula!" (Eat!).
Amuru hasi (Don't ...): utumie "us- + (verb) + -e": "Usile!" (Don't eat!).
Mfano wa kinyume (past negative): "I did not eat" = "Sikula". (Tumia pia: Hukula? Hatu... — za kiwango tofauti katika matumizi ya kitenzi hasi.)
(Kumbuka: mafomu hasi yana tofauti za kikabila; makini pamoja na mwalimu wakati wa matumizi ya tenses hasi.)
6. Mifano ya Sentensi (Kenya-relevant)
  • Ninakula mahindi. (I am eating maize.)
  • Walimu walisoma darasani. (The teachers taught in the classroom.)
  • Tutawasaidia wazazi shambani. (We will help parents on the farm.)
  • Andikia rafiki yako barua. (Write a letter to your friend.)
7. Malengo Mahususi ya Kujifunza (Specific Learning Outcomes)
  1. Mtoto atatambua na kutoa mifano ya vitenzi rahisi (kula, soma, cheza, fika).
  2. Mtoto ataweza kutengeneza sentensi rahisi kwa vitenzi katika wakati wa sasa, jana (past) na kesho (future).
  3. Mtoto ataelezea tofauti kati ya kitenzi cha msingi na viambishi vya causative/applicative/reciprocal/passive kwa kutumia mifano.
  4. Mtoto atatumia amuru na amru hasi kwa ufasaha wa kuzungumza darasani.
8. Mbinu za Kufundishia (Suggested Learning Experiences)
  • Matendo ya kuigiza (role-play): Wanafunzi wakicheza shughuli za kila siku (kula, kuoga, kusoma) na kushiriki sentensi.
  • Kart ya maneno (word cards): Tengeneza kadi za vitenzi na nafsia; wanafunzi wanaweka kadi za wakati (jana/sasa/kesho).
  • Kazi za vikundi: Wanafunzi waunde hadithi fupi (3–5 sentensi) zinazotumia vitenzi tofauti na kuzipiga matamshi darasani.
  • Nyimbo na mashairi: Tumia nyimbo rahisi za kiswahili zinazojumuisha vitenzi ili kuwasaidia kukumbuka viambishi.
  • Zoeezi la kufunga maneno (matching): Bandika picha za shughuli (mkate, shamba, kitabu) na uombebe kitenzi kinachofaa.
9. Mbinu za Kutathmini na Vyanzo
  • Mtihani mfupi: Taja vitenzi 6 na tengeneza sentensi kwa wakati tofauti (sasa, jana, kesho).
  • Observational checklist: Angalia kuwa mwanafunzi anaimarisha matumizi ya kibandiko sahihi na kipimo cha wakati.
  • Vyanzo: Vitabu vya Kiswahili vya shule za msingi Kenya, nyimbo za watoto, hadithi za jadi.
10. Mazoezi (Exercises) — Jaribu
  1. Tumia mzizi "soma": Andika sentensi kwa kila wakati: sasa, jana, kesho. (Mfano: Ninakula → Ninasoma.)
  2. Badilisha kitenzi kuwa causative: som a → ? (Jibu chini.)
  3. Tengeneza amru kwa wanafunzi: (verb = cheza) — ? (Jibu chini.)
Majibu (mfupi):
1) Sasa: Ninasoma. Jana: Nilisoma. Kesho: Nitasoma.
2) Causative: somesha (to teach, cause to read).
3) Amru (cheza): Cheza!
