David and Goliath
Bible story for CRE • For children aged 6 (Kenya)
Who is in the story?
- 👦 David — a young shepherd boy who loves God.
- 🪖 Goliath — a very big soldier who was strong and scary.
- 👑 King Saul and the Israelite army — they were afraid of Goliath.
What happened?
The people of Israel were fighting the Philistines. Goliath came every day and shouted. He wanted to scare everyone. Young David went to bring food for his brothers. When David heard Goliath, he trusted God. He picked five small stones, used his sling, and threw one stone. The stone hit Goliath and he fell. David trusted God and God helped him win.
Simple lesson

- 💪 Be brave — do the right thing even when you feel scared.
- 🤝 Be kind — David cared for his sheep and his family.

Fun activities (safe & simple)
- 🎯 Stone game: Use 5 soft pebbles or cotton balls. Throw gently at a paper target. (Adult supervision)
- ✂️ Craft: Make a pretend sling from a strip of paper and tape. Do not throw hard.
- 🖍️ Colouring: Draw David with a sling and a smile. Colour the sky and the green hills (Valley of Elah).
- 🎵 Song: Sing a short song about being brave and trusting God after reading the story.
