Grade 1 CRE The Church – The Church As The House Of Prayer Notes
The Church: The House of Prayer ⛪
The church is a place where Christians meet to pray, sing and learn about God. We call it a "house of prayer" because people come to talk to God and listen to Him. ✝️🙏
"My house shall be called a house of prayer." — Matthew 21:13
What we do in church
- We pray to God. 🙏
- We sing songs. 🎵
- We listen to the Bible story. 📖
- We thank God and help each other. ❤️
Church in Kenya
In Kenya many children go to church on Sunday with their families. Churches may be big or small. People from towns and villages meet to pray for their homes, schools and for the country, Kenya. 🇰🇪
Why the church is important
- We learn about Jesus and how to be kind.
- We pray for our parents, teachers and leaders.
- We make friends and help others.
"Dear God, thank you for our church. Help us to love you and love others. Amen." 🙏
Fun activity — Draw your church
- Take paper and crayons.
- Draw a big rectangle for the building.
- Add a triangle for the roof and a cross on top. ✝️
- Draw windows, a door and people smiling outside. 🙂
- Colour your drawing and show it in class.
Make a paper church (easy)
Fold A4 paper in half. Draw a door and windows. Cut them out with help from an adult. Decorate with stickers or colour. You now have a little church to keep! ✂️🏠
