Hello! These notes help you learn about good foods, staying active and keeping clean. They use examples you know in Kenya. Read, pick one activity and one healthy food today!
- Carbohydrates β energy. Eg. ugali, rice, chapati, maize.
- Proteins β grow muscles. Eg. meat (nyama), fish, beans, eggs, milk.
- Fruits & Vegetables β vitamins and minerals. Eg. sukuma wiki, spinach, mango, bananas, oranges.
- Dairy β strong bones. Eg. milk, yogurt.
Ugali + sukuma wiki + grilled fish + a banana or an orange. Drink clean water or milk. πππ₯
- Play football or netball with friends β½π
- Skip rope β 5 to 10 minutes is great! π
- Run or walk to school if it is safe πΆββοΈπββοΈ
- Help at home β fetch water, sweep, or dance with family π
- Aim for at least 60 minutes of play each day.
- Wash hands with soap before eating and after toilet. (Sing a short song while washing β 20 seconds.)
- Drink safe, clean water. Boil or use a purifier if water is not treated.
- Brush your teeth twice a day β morning and at night.
- Cover food from flies and dust.
- Keep your lunch box and water bottle clean after use.
