Care For Water

Subtopic: Water conservation β€’ Subject: Environmental
For children aged 6 β€” Kenya

Why water is important

Water is for drinking, cooking, washing and for our plants and animals. Without water, people, animals and trees get sad and thirsty.

Short and simple rules

  • Turn off the tap when you are not using it. 🚰
  • Use a small cup to wash your hands or brush your teeth. πŸͺ₯
  • Ask an adult to fix dripping taps. A drip wastes a lot of water. πŸ’§
  • Water the garden in the morning or evening. Less water evaporates then. 🌿
  • Collect rainwater in drums or jerrycans with an adult. 🌧️πŸͺ£
  • Keep rivers and lakes clean β€” do not throw rubbish in them. 🏞️

Activity you can do

- Draw a picture of a tap and a water drop. Color the tap blue. πŸ’§

A little rhyme

Save the water, drop by drop,
Give it to trees and cows and crops. πŸŒΎπŸ„

Did you know? (Kenya)

Kenya has wet and dry seasons. When it does not rain, people need saved water. That is why every drop we save counts. 🌦️

Ask an adult before you collect rainwater or fix taps. Be kind to nature and share water with animals and plants.
Be a water hero today! πŸ’§πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈπŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈ
