Subtopic: Animals (Ages 6) — Kenya
Hello! Animals are living friends in our environment. They live in forests, on farms, in the savanna and in water. In Kenya we have many animals like elephants, lions and giraffes.

What are animals?
- Animals are living things that move and grow.
- They eat, sleep and make babies.
- Swahili names: Elephant = Tembo, Lion = Simba, Giraffe = Twiga, Zebra = Punda milia, Cow = Ng'ombe, Chicken = Kuku.

What animals eat
- Herbivores (eat plants): giraffe, zebra, cow.
- Carnivores (eat meat): lion.
- Omnivores (eat both): some birds, monkeys, chickens.
Why animals are important
- They give us milk, eggs and food (farm animals).
- They help plants grow (some spread seeds).
- Animals bring tourists to Kenya — jobs for people.
- Pets give us love and friends.
How to care for animals
- Do not throw litter where animals live.
- Give clean water and kind care to pets and farm animals.
- Never hurt wild animals — watch them from a safe place.
- Plant trees — they give homes and food for animals.
