What are plants and animals?
- Plants are trees, flowers, grass and crops like maize and mango trees. πΏπΌπ₯
- Animals are elephants, giraffes, birds, monkeys, fish and our pets. ππ¦πΆπ
Why we must care
- Trees give us shade and clean air. π³
- Plants give us food like fruits and vegetables. ππ
- Animals are part of nature and some help farms and forests. ππ¦
- If we care, the world stays beautiful and healthy for everyone. π
How you can help (easy steps)
At home
- Water plants with a small can early morning or late afternoon. πΏπͺ΄
- Keep a small pot for kitchen scraps (like banana peels) to make soil (ask an adult). πβ‘οΈπͺ±
- Don't pick all the flowers β leave some for insects and birds. πΈπ
At school or play
- Put rubbish in the bin β don't throw plastic on the ground. ποΈ
- Join tree planting day with friends and teachers. π±
- Be gentle to small animals and insects. Don't hurt them. π
For pets
- Feed pets the right food and give them water. πΆπ₯£
- Keep them clean and take them to a vet with your parent if they are sick. π©Ί
In the community
- Help pick up litter on the school compound with friends (wear gloves). π§€
- Avoid wasting water β turn off taps when not using. π§
- Tell an adult if you see an injured wild animal and do not try to move it. π¨
Fun and safe crafts (ask an adult)
Mini plant pot from a bottle π§΄β‘οΈπͺ΄
- Ask an adult to cut a clean, empty plastic bottle in half.
- Fill the bottom with soil and plant a seed or small plant.
- Put the pot on a sunny window. Water a little every day.
Simple bird feeder (with an adult) π¦
- Use a clean empty milk carton or small box. Cut two windows and a hole for string.
- Fill with bird seeds and hang safely from a tree branch.
- Watch birds visit β do not feed them bread too much.
