Where does our food come from? πΎ
- Farm / Shamba π‘ β maize (ugali), vegetables like sukuma wiki, and beans (maharagwe).
- Home garden β small vegetables and fruits near the house.
- Market / Soko π β fruits like mango and bananas; fresh vegetables.
- Shop / Duka β packaged foods and little treats.
- Animals β milk (maziwa) and eggs. (Only from clean animals and clean people!) ππ₯
Why pick good (safe) food? π€
Safe food keeps us healthy. Dirty food can make our tummies hurt. Always choose clean and fresh food.
Hygiene tips β Easy to remember π
- Wash hands with soap and water before eating. π§Όπ
- Wash fruits and vegetables with clean water. ππ§
- Eat food that is cooked well and hot when it should be. π₯
- Keep food covered so flies and dust do not touch it. πͺ°β‘οΈπ«
- Store milk and cooked food in a clean place. If milk smells bad, throw it away. π₯π«
- Do not eat food from the ground. Ask an adult. π ββοΈπ
- Help keep the kitchen and dishes clean after meals. π§½π½οΈ
