These foods grow from the ground or on trees.

  • Maize (used to make ugali) 🌽

  • Fresh food from the market (e.g., vegetables, fruit)
  • Food from shops and kiosks (packaged foods)
  • Home garden β€” plant your own vegetables and herbs 🌱

4. Hygiene β€” Keep foods clean! πŸ§ΌπŸ’§

It is very important to keep food and hands clean so we don't get sick.

  • Wash your hands with soap and water before eating and cooking. 🧼
  • Wash fruits and vegetables with clean water before you eat them. πŸŽπŸ’§
  • Cook food well until it is hot. Hot food is safer to eat. πŸ”₯
  • Keep food covered so flies cannot touch it. πŸͺ°βŒ
  • Use clean water for cooking and washing. 🚰
  • Store food in a safe place and throw away old or rotten food. πŸ—‘οΈ
