Hygiene: Eating Habits

Topic: Sources of Food • Subtopic: Eating habits • For children (age 6) — Kenya
Why we learn this

To stay healthy, we must eat clean food and use clean hands and plates. Clean food keeps germs away.

Where food comes from 🍲

  • Farm (shamba) — maize, vegetables, beans 🌽🥬
  • Market (soko) — fruits, fish, meat 🥭🐟
  • Shop — flour, sugar, milk (maziwa) 🥛🍞
  • Home garden — sukuma wiki, spinach 🌱
  • Animals — eggs from chickens (mayai), milk from cows (maziwa) 🐔🐄
Tip: Buy or pick food from clean places. Ask an adult to help at the market.
