Subtopic: Bible Stories
For: Age 11 (Kenya)

Short, simple stories from the Bible that teach right living, faith and hope.

What is the Bible?

The Bible is a holy book for Christians. It has two main parts: the Old Testament (stories before Jesus) and the New Testament (life of Jesus and the early church). The stories teach about God, love, courage and how to live well.

Important Bible Stories (short & easy)

1. Creation (Genesis 1)

God made the world in six days and rested on the seventh. He made light, land, plants, animals and people.

Lesson: We must care for God's creation — plants, animals and our environment. (Be a steward of nature in Kenya — plant trees, care for farms.)

2. Noah and the Ark (Genesis 6–9)

God told Noah to build an ark to save his family and animals from a big flood because people had been doing wrong.

Lesson: Listen to God and obey. God keeps His promises (the rainbow is a sign of His promise).

3. Abraham and the Promise (Genesis 12)

God called Abraham to leave his home and promised to bless him and make his family many.

Lesson: Trust God even when things are new or hard.

4. Moses and the Exodus (Exodus 3–14)

God used Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. God showed power through the plagues and by parting the Red Sea.

Lesson: God helps people who trust Him. Leaders should care for their people.

5. David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17)

Young David trusted God and faced the giant Goliath with a sling and stone. He won because God was with him.

Lesson: Courage and faith help us face big problems, even when we feel small.

6. Daniel in the Lion's Den (Daniel 6)

Daniel prayed to God. Because he stayed faithful, God protected him when he was thrown into a den of lions.

Lesson: Pray and be faithful even when others disagree with you.

7. Jonah and the Big Fish (Jonah 1–4)

Jonah tried to run from God's command, but God taught him to be kind and forgive others by using a big fish and second chance.

Lesson: God forgives and wants us to show mercy to others.

8. The Birth of Jesus (Luke 2)

Jesus was born in Bethlehem to Mary and Joseph. Shepherds and wise men came to worship Him.

Lesson: Jesus came to bring hope and love to everyone.

9. Jesus' Miracles (various passages)

Jesus healed sick people, fed many with little food, and calmed storms. His miracles show God's power and care.

Lesson: Jesus cares for people; we should help those who are sick or in need in our community.

10. Easter — Jesus Dies and Rises Again (Luke 23–24)

Jesus died for our sins and rose again on the third day. This gives Christians hope of new life.

Lesson: Love is stronger than death. We have hope through Jesus.

Simple Activities (for class or at home)
