For age: 11 • Kenya
Memory Verse
"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.' " — John 11:25 (simple wording)

Short Stories from the Bible (easy to read)

  • Lazarus (John 11) — Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead after four days. People saw that Jesus has power over death.
  • Jairus' daughter (Mark 5 / Luke 8) — Jesus took the girl's hand and she stood up, alive again.
  • Widow’s son at Nain (Luke 7) — Jesus told the young man to get up, and he did.
  • Jesus' own resurrection (Matthew 28, Luke 24, John 20) — After Jesus died, He rose again. This is the most important proof that He has power over death.

What this means for us

- Jesus shows that death is not the end. He gives hope for life after death.
- We can trust Jesus when we are scared, sick or when someone we love dies.
- Jesus' power gives Christians courage to live kindly, forgive others, and tell others about God's love.

New Words (easy definitions)

  • Resurrection — coming back to life.
  • Miracle — something wonderful that only God can do.
  • Faith — trusting God even when you cannot see what will happen.
  • Hope — believing good things are possible because of God.

In our Kenyan life (school, church, home)

- When a friend is sick at school, we can pray and show love, like Jesus showed to those he helped.
- At church, we sing and remember Jesus' victory over death at Easter. In Kenya, many churches hold sunrise services that celebrate this hope.
- At home, we can talk with family about hope and comfort if someone dies. Christians remember that Jesus promises life after death.

Class Activities (simple and fun)

  1. Role play: Act out the story of Lazarus — one child is Jesus, others are family or neighbours. Practice saying kind words and comforting one another.
  2. Draw & Share: Draw a picture of Jesus with people he helped. Share what the person in your picture learned from Jesus.
  3. Memory Verse game: Break the verse into parts on paper cards. Mix them and race to put the verse in the right order.

Reflection & Short Prayer

Think: Who do I know that needs hope today? How can I show God’s love to them?

Prayer (short): "Dear Jesus, thank you that you are stronger than death. Help me to trust you and to help others. Amen."
