- Learn Bible verses that teach about faith.
- See how faith works in daily life in Kenya.
- Do short activities to remember and practice faith.
What is Faith?
Faith in God means believing God is real, loving and able to help even when we cannot see Him. It is trusting God with our heart, prayer and choices.
Simple idea: Faith is like trusting a friend to catch you when you jump — you cannot see the catch before you jump, but you believe it will happen.
What the Bible Says
- Hebrews 11:1 – "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." (simple meaning: faith is sure hope.)
- Romans 10:17 – "Faith comes from hearing the message about Christ." (we grow faith by reading and hearing God's Word.)
- Mark 11:22–24 – Jesus tells us to have faith in God and believe in prayer. (we must trust God when we pray.)
Faith in Everyday Kenyan Life
Here are simple examples of showing faith in Kenya:
- Before exams — you study and pray, trusting God to help you remember what you learned.
- Farming or planting — you sow seeds and pray for rain, trusting God to provide the harvest.
- When someone is sick — you visit, pray and trust God to give doctors wisdom and heal the sick.
- Helping others — faith leads you to share food or help a classmate, trusting God will bless your kindness.
Activities (Class or Home)
1. Memory Verse (5 minutes)
Hebrews 11:1 – "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
Tip: Say it together three times, then try by heart.
2. Role-Play (10–15 minutes)
In groups, act out one of these short scenes:
- A student praying before an exam and then studying hard.
- A family planting maize and praying for rain, then working the field together.
3. Draw & Share (10 minutes)
Draw a picture of something you trust God for (school, family, health, rain). Share with a friend and say one sentence prayer for it.
