What is a miracle?

A miracle is something wonderful that God does through Jesus which people cannot do by themselves. Miracles show God's power, love and care for people. ❤️

Why did Jesus do miracles?

  • To help people who were sick or sad.
  • To show that God’s love and power are real.
  • To teach people to trust God and to be kind to others.

Some important miracles (simple explanations)

1. Feeding the 5,000 🍞🐟

Jesus fed a large crowd with only five loaves of bread and two fish. Everyone ate and there were even leftovers!

What we learn: God cares for our needs and can provide in surprising ways.
2. Walking on water 👣🚣‍♂️

Jesus walked on the Sea of Galilee to reach his friends in a boat during a storm. His friends saw that he was powerful over nature.

What we learn: We can trust Jesus even when things are scary.
3. Healing the sick (blind people, lepers, the paralyzed) ❤️

Jesus healed many people who were sick or unable to see or move. He showed kindness and brought new hope.

What we learn: Jesus cares for those who are suffering and teaches us to help others.
4. Calming the storm 🌧️➡️☀️

While on a boat, Jesus told the winds and waves to be quiet. Everything became calm.

What we learn: Jesus has power over nature and brings peace.
5. Raising Lazarus (bringing someone back to life)

Jesus brought his friend Lazarus back to life. This showed that Jesus has power even over death.

What we learn: Jesus gives hope even in the hardest times.

Simple meanings of miracles for us

  • They show God’s love for everyone (like how your teacher or parent cares for you).
  • They teach us to help people, pray, and have faith.
  • They remind us to be thankful and to share what we have.

Short memory verse

"With God all things are possible." — Matthew 19:26

Classroom / Home activities (easy and fun)

  1. Draw your favourite miracle and write one sentence about what it teaches you.
  2. Role-play: In groups, act out the story of Feeding the 5,000 using toy food or paper cut-outs.
  3. Discussion: How can we show God’s love at school or in our village?
  4. Memory game: Match the miracle with its lesson (teacher prepares small cards).

Questions to think about (for personal reflection or class)

  • Which miracle do you like most and why?
  • How does the miracle you chose make you feel?
  • How can you show care to someone this week like Jesus did?
Teacher's tip: Use local examples children know (like sharing food at home) to help them understand the miracles. Keep language simple and encourage kindness and prayer.
