Grade 3 CRE The Bible – The Bible Story Notes
The Bible Story
What is the Bible?
The Bible is God’s special book. It tells true stories about God, people and Jesus. Christians read the Bible to learn how to love God and other people.
Two big parts
- Old Testament – stories before Jesus (e.g., Creation, Noah, Moses, David).
- New Testament – stories about Jesus and His followers (birth, miracles, parables, Easter).
Short Bible stories to know
God made the world in six days and rested on the seventh. Everything He made was good.
God asked Noah to build an ark to save his family and many animals from a big flood.
God used Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and through the Red Sea to freedom.
Young David trusted God and defeated the giant Goliath with a sling and a stone.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Christians celebrate His birth at Christmas.
Jesus taught that helping people near us (our neighbours) is very important, even if they are different from us.
Jesus died on the cross and came back to life. This gives hope to Christians everywhere.
Why these stories matter
- They teach us about God’s love and care.
- They show how to be kind, brave and honest.
- They help us pray and trust God when we are afraid.
