Grade 5 CRE Preparing For The Coming Of Jesus Christ – God’s Power Over Nature Notes
CRE Notes — Preparing For The Coming Of Jesus Christ
Subtopic: God’s Power Over Nature (for Age 10)
God’s power over nature means He can control the seas, wind, rain, and everything He created. The Bible shows many stories where God uses His power to help His people. These stories remind us to trust God and get ready for the coming of Jesus.

Key Bible Examples (short and simple)
- Jesus calms the storm — Jesus told the wind and waves to be still. (See Mark 4:35–41). This shows He is Lord over nature.
- The Red Sea parts — God made a dry road through the sea so the Israelites could escape. (Exodus 14).
- Creation — God spoke and created the world (Genesis 1). He made light, land, animals and people.
What these stories teach us
- God is powerful and can help in danger.
- We should trust God even when things look bad.
- God cares for people and keeps His promises.
How this helps us prepare for Jesus’ coming
- Trust God in every trouble — like trusting Jesus to calm the storm.
- Pray often — talk to God and ask for help.
- Live kindly — obey God, help others, and say sorry when you do wrong.
- Tell others about Jesus so they can be ready too.

"He said to the wind, 'Quiet!' The wind stopped and everything was calm." — Mark 4:39 (simple words for children)
Simple Activities

- Role play: One child pretends to be in a storm and the other says, "Jesus, please help." Talk about how trusting God feels.
- Ask someone who fishes on Lake Victoria or at the coast about storms — talk about trusting God in storms (Kenyan example).
Short Prayer (for children)
Dear God, thank You for caring for us and for showing Your power. Help us to trust You, pray, and be ready for Jesus. Amen.
