Grade 5 CRE The Bible – God Loves Humanity Notes
CRE Notes: The Bible
Subtopic: God Loves Humanity ❤️
These notes explain, in a simple way, what the Bible teaches about God's love for all people. They are for children aged about 10 years in Kenya. You can read them at home or in class.
God loves every person. He made people, cares for them, forgives them, and sent Jesus to show how great His love is. 📖❤️
What the Bible says (easy words)
- God made people in His image (Genesis 1:27) — this means every person is important to God.
- God loves the whole world (John 3:16) — He sent Jesus because He loves us.
- God loves us even when we make mistakes (Romans 5:8) — He forgives and helps us to do better.
- God is love (1 John 4:8) — being kind and caring is part of God’s heart.
"God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son." — John 3:16 (short)
Dear God, thank you for loving me. Help me to love others like you do. Amen. 🙏
Simple examples from life in Kenya
- Helping a neighbour carry water or sharing your food shows love like God’s love. (Think of harambee — coming together to help.)
- Looking after a sick grandparent (mzee) or playing kindly with younger children shows care — this is part of God’s love too. 👵🏽👴🏽👧🏽👦🏽
- When someone says sorry, forgive them — God forgives us, and we should forgive others.
A short Bible story (easy)
Jesus told a story about a shepherd who had 100 sheep. One sheep was lost. The shepherd left the 99 and searched until he found the lost sheep. He was very happy when it came home. This story shows that God cares for each person — even one who is lost. 🐑
How we should respond
- Love God by praying, singing, and reading the Bible. 🙌
- Love other people — your family, classmates, and neighbours. Share and be kind.
- Forgive people when they hurt you, like God forgives you.
Classroom activities (quick)
- Draw a heart: Draw a big heart and inside write three ways you can show God’s love at home or in school.
- Role play: Act out the lost sheep story with classmates — one person is the shepherd and others are sheep. Show how the shepherd cares.
- Memory game: Learn John 3:16. Say it together and clap for each word you remember.
- Who made people in His image? (Answer: God)
- Why did God send Jesus? (Answer: Because He loves the world and wants to save people)
- Give one way you can show God’s love at home. (Example answer: Helping my mother with chores)
Closing thought
Remember: God loves you every day. When you are kind, forgive others, and help those in need, you are showing God’s love to the people around you. 🌍💖
