CRE Notes: Christian Values β Values of a Christian π°πͺ
Hello! These are simple notes for Class 1β3 learners. Values are good ways God wants us to live. Christians learn these from Jesus and the Bible. Read, talk with your teacher or parent, and try them at home, school and church.
What is a value?
A value is something that helps us do the right thing. For Christians, values help us love God and love people.
Important Christian values (easy words and examples)
β€οΈ Love
Care for others. Example: Share your snacks (mandazi/chapati) with a friend.
π Respect
Be kind to elders and teachers. Example: Greet your teacher, say "Good morning".
π£οΈ Honesty
Tell the truth. Example: If you break a cup, tell your parent instead of hiding it.
π€ Kindness
Help others. Example: Help a younger child put on shoes or carry a small book.
π Forgiveness
Say "I forgive you" and stop being angry. Example: Forgive a friend who pushed you during playtime.
π Obedience
Listen to parents and teachers. Example: Do your homework when told.
π Generosity
Share what you have. Example: Give a toy to a child who has none.
β³ Patience
Wait without getting angry. Example: Wait your turn in class or in a queue for food.
π§ Self-control
Stop and think before you act. Example: Donβt shout when you are upset; speak softly to solve problems.
π Prayer
Talk to God. Example: Pray before meals and at bedtime to say thank you.
β¨ Faith
Trust God and Jesus. Example: Trust God when you feel scared at night.
π οΈ Service
Help the church and community. Example: Help clean the church compound or pick up litter.
π Thankfulness
Say "Thank you" to God and people. Example: Thank your parent for food or your teacher for helping you.
Memory verse (easy)
"Love one another." β John 13:34
Practice saying this verse with a parent or teacher.
Short class/home activities
- Draw a picture of you helping someone. Write one word: Love or Kindness.
- Role-play: One child asks for forgiveness, the other forgives.
- Talk with your parent: Name three values you will try this week.
