The Holy Bible
Subtopic: The Bible As A Guide In Daily Lives
The Bible is Godβs special book. It helps Christians know how to live each day. It teaches us to love, to be honest, and to help others. (Think of the Bible like a friendly map that shows the right way.)
π
What the Bible teaches
- Love God and love people (be kind and caring).
- Tell the truth and be honest at home and school.
- Respect parents, teachers and elders.
- Share with others (food, time, toys).
- Help the sick and the poor in our community.
Simple Kenyan examples
- If your friend forgot lunch, share your chapati or ugali with them.
- Help mum or dad fetch water or sweep the yardβthis is showing love.
- Be honest in class when answering the teacher.
- Visit or pray for a sick neighbour or grandparent.
How to use the Bible every day
- Start with a short prayer: say "Thank you" to God.
- Read one short story or verse with a parent or teacher.
- Talk about what the story says you should do today.
- Try to do one good thing from the story (help, share, say sorry).
- Memorise one short verse each week.
Memory Verse (easy):
"Love your neighbour as yourself." β Mark 12:31 π
Short Bible stories that guide us
- Jesus and the children: Jesus welcomed children. He teaches us to be kind to everyone.
- The Good Samaritan: Help people who are hurt, even if they are different from you.
- David and honesty: David trusted God and tried to do right. We should tell the truth.
Activity 1: Draw & Tell
Draw a picture of you helping someone at home or in school. Ask a friend or parent to tell a short Bible story about helping.
Activity 2: Memory Game
Practice the memory verse with claps: clap for each word you say. Try to say the whole verse without stopping!
Short Prayer
"Dear God, thank you for the Bible. Help me to be kind, honest and to help others today. Amen." π
Tip for teachers & parents: Read one short Bible story each day with the child and ask them one question: "How will you show this story today?" Use local life examples like school, home, and church.
