Grade 2 CRE The Holy Bible – The Widow Of Zarephath Notes
The Widow of Zarephath 🍞🔥
Topic: The Holy Bible — CRE (for Class 1–3, Kenya)
Subtopic: The Widow of Zarephath (simple story for 7-year-olds)
Short Story (easy words)
A prophet named Elijah was told by God to go to a place called Zarephath. There he met a poor widow and her son. The widow only had a little flour in a jar and a bit of oil in a jug. Elijah asked her to share her food with him. She obeyed even though she was poor.
God kept the jar of flour and the jug of oil from becoming empty. Every day they had food until the drought was over. God cared for Elijah, the widow, and her son because they trusted and obeyed Him.
- Elijah — a prophet of God

Where is Zarephath? (simple)

Use local examples children know (like sharing ugali or chapati) to explain sharing. Keep sentences short and let learners act out the story.
