Grade 4 CRE Christian Values – Results Of Obedience Notes
CRE — Christian Values
Subtopic: Results of Obedience (for age 9)
What is obedience?
Obedience means listening and doing what God, your parents, or teachers tell you. It keeps you safe and helps others trust you. ✅
Why should we obey?
- Obedience brings God's blessings and care. 🎁
- It keeps us safe (for example crossing the road). 🛑🚸
- People can trust us — we become responsible. ⭐
- We grow in love for God and others. ❤️
Short Bible examples
- Noah obeyed God and built the ark. God saved Noah and his family from the flood. 🌊🛶
- Abraham obeyed God and left his home. God blessed him and his family. ✈️🌳
- Samuel listened to God even as a boy. He grew up serving God. 🙏👦
- Jesus teaches us to love and obey God. (John 14:15) — "If you love me, keep my commands." ✝️
Results of Obedience (what happens)
- Blessings and help from God — God cares for those who obey. 🎁
- Safety — obey rules and instructions; you stay safe. 🛡️
- Peace at home and school — fewer fights, happier family. ☮️
- Good name — people say you are trustworthy. 🌟
- Better learning — obey teachers and you learn more. 📚
Everyday examples in Kenya
- Obey parents when crossing the road — you avoid accident. 🚸
- Obey the teacher in class — you finish your schoolwork well. 📝
- Obey church rules — you show respect in Sunday school. ⛪
- Obey road rules as a passenger — you help the driver keep everyone safe. 🚗
Memory Verse (learn and say):
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right." — Ephesians 6:1
Fun Activity (do with your class or family)
- Draw two pictures: one of a child obeying (helping a parent) and one of not obeying. Talk about the results.
- Role-play: practice saying "Yes, mum/dad" and follow a simple instruction (e.g., pick up toys). Talk about how it felt.
- Match game: draw lines to match each obedience action to its result:
- Obey teacher → Good grades
- Obey parents crossing road → Safety
- Obey at church → Respect
Short Questions (answer aloud)
- Name one Bible person who obeyed God.
- How does obedience keep you safe?
- Say the memory verse from Ephesians 6:1.
Short Prayer
