What is Personal Property?
Personal property means things that belong to a person. For a child these can be books, school uniform, toys, shoes, mobile phone (if any), and pocket money. At home and at school we must be careful with our things and other people's things.
Why care for personal property?
- It helps things last longer — you save money for your family.
- It shows respect to others when you do not use or break their things.
- God wants us to be good stewards (careful keepers) of what we have.
Simple rules to follow
- Keep your books and uniform clean and safe. 📚👕
- Ask before you borrow. Always return things on time. 🤝
- Do not take what does not belong to you — stealing is wrong. 🚫
- Fix or tell an adult if something is broken. 🛠️
- Share when it is kind, but ask first if the owner agrees. 🙂
What the Bible teaches
- God says do not steal (Ten Commandments).
- Jesus praises those who are faithful with what they have (parable of the talents). This teaches us to use and look after gifts and things God gives us.

Memory verse
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much." — Luke 16:10
Short situations — What would you do?
- Your friend leaves a pencil on the desk. What do you do? (Answer: keep it safe and tell your friend.)
- You find a phone on the ground after church. What do you do? (Answer: give it to the church office or teacher.)
- Your sister breaks your toy. What do you do? (Answer: tell a parent and say sorry if needed.)
Class & home activities
- Draw three things you take care of and write one way you protect each thing. (At school and at home.) 🎨
- Role play: One child borrows a book. Act how to ask, borrow and return. 🎭
- Make a short prayer of thanks for things God has given you. 🙏
Tips for teachers & parents
- Praise children when they return or look after things.
- Use real examples from school or home to teach responsibility.
- Keep rules simple: Ask, Care, Return.

Short prayer
Dear God, thank you for the things you give us. Help us to care for them and be kind to others by not taking what belongs to them. Teach us to be faithful with little things. Amen.
