Grade 4 CRE Creation – Thoughts And Feelings Notes
CRE — Creation
Subtopic: Thoughts and Feelings
God made people with thoughts and feelings. That means God gave us a mind to think and a heart to feel. He cares about both.
Bible ideas:
- Genesis 1:27 — God made people in His image.
- Psalm 139:14 — God made us wonderfully. He knows our thoughts and feelings.
What are thoughts?
Thoughts are what we think in our heads. Examples: "I want to play," or "I wonder why the sun shines."
What are feelings?
Feelings are inside our hearts. They can be happy, sad, angry, afraid, or excited. Feelings help us know what we need.

How does Creation help our feelings?
- Looking at nature (trees, animals, Mount Kenya) can make us thankful and calm.
- God uses people — family, teachers, church friends — to help us when we are sad or afraid.
- Praying to God helps us share our thoughts and feelings with Him.
What to do with strong feelings
- Tell a trusted adult (parent, teacher, church leader).
- Pray and tell God how you feel.
- Take deep breaths or walk outside and look at creation (flowers, birds, a mango tree).
- Draw or write your thoughts in a notebook.
Short prayer for children:
Dear God, thank you for making my thoughts and feelings. Help me share them with you and with people who love me. Amen.
Class activity (5–10 minutes)
- Draw a picture of something in creation (a tree, a bird, Mt. Kenya) that makes you feel happy. Share with a friend and say why.
- Role-play: One child pretends to be sad. Another child practices saying kind words or praying together.
Questions to think about
- What thought did God put in your mind today?
- Which part of God’s creation makes you feel peaceful?
- Who can you talk to when you feel worried?
Remember: God made you with a mind and a heart. Both are special and He cares about them.
